In “House Call For Health Professionals” (Politico, October 23, 2024), Politico discusses the class action lawsuit filed by Pollock Cohen LLP partner Steve Cohen and co-counsel Walden Macht Haran & Williams LLP partner Jake Gardener against Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York, claiming the insurer published an inaccurate directory of providers accepting coverage.
The article explains that Anthem BCBS misled customers with “ghost networks” and highlights lawmakers’ critical stance regarding directory accuracy. In this case, attorneys for the plaintiffs did a “secret shopper” study and found only seven of 100 doctors accepted BCBS insurance and were taking new patients.
