Pollock Cohen Partner Steve Cohen spoke at the 7th annual Innovation and Technology Law conference, sponsored by the Seattle University School of Law, on May 31, 2024. The conference theme was “Generative AI: Infringement or Innovation?” Steve participated on a panel of plaintiffs' lawyers who discussed several high-profile cases, including The New York Times’ lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI; and actress Sarah Silverman's lawsuit against OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Steve discussed his clients’ class action lawsuit against Lovo.ai which is alleged to have cloned the voices of hundreds of actors’ voices and marketed them using a text-to-speech generator – without permission or compensation.
