In "Of Drivers Targeted by TLC Airport Stings, 86% Are Nonwhite, Lawsuit Claims" (The City, August 24, 2023), The City highlights a lawsuit filed against New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission on behalf of drivers who were unfairly targeted by race and fined for illegal airport pickups.
The class-action lawsuit alleges that the New York City Taxi and Commission (TLC) violated their constitutional rights and doled out excessive fines when it conducted undercover stings at JFK and LaGuardia Airport. The Pollock Cohen team along with Mobilization for Justice and Peter Romer-Friedman Law PLLC are representing the plaintiffs in this matter.
