In “Judge Temporarily Blocks Mayor Adams from Switching NYC Retirees to Medicare Advantage: Protecting the Health Coverage of City Workers” (New York Daily News, July 7, 2023), it was reported that New York Supreme Court Judge Lyle Frank granted a temporary restraining order, preventing Mayor Adams from switching approximately 250,000 retired city workers and their dependents to a cost-cutting Medicare Advantage Plan. This decision is the fifth victory in the courts for the retirees safeguarding their current coverage.
